Unfortunate news- Giga Ochkhikidze’s revoked gold medal

Georgian Paralympian Giga Ockhikidze’s gold medal at the current Paralympic Games in Paris was revoked.
Ockhikidze used two out of six shots, one of which was shot at 9.66 meters, which is a world record. But the delegations of Poland and Morocco protested the result. After the video review, the Georgian’s result was canceled.
The Georgian delegation also appealed against this action and it is still under consideration.
“We immediately appealed this decision and we are still in the process of reviewing it. We had several hours of meetings with the organizers and the referees, and we presented video evidence that Giga is firing the core correctly.
On September 5, I have a personal meeting with the President of the International Paralympic Committee, Andrew Persons.
It is unacceptable that paraathletes were unfairly oppressed and stole the results recognized by everyone at the Paralympic Games!
We will protect the rights of our proud paraathlete Giga Ochkhikidze to the end, and we will inform you of the results as soon as the information is updated,”- said the federation.
On September 5, the President of the Georgian Weightlifting Federation will meet with the President of the World Paralympic Games Federation. According to Georgians, no Paralympic athlete should be oppressed.
