Diego and Giorgi Chkhikvadze are set to compete for gold medals in Greco-Roman wrestling at the Under-23 World Championship in Tirana, Albania.
Diego Chkhikvadze defeated Aghayev in the semi-final under a neutral flag and will meet the representative of Kyrgyzstan Beysekeev in the final, while the reigning European champion Giorgi Chkhikvadze defeated Kyrgyz Nurlanbekov in the semi-final and will face the representative of Armenia Khachatryan for the gold medal.
On October 22, the final matches will kick off at 20:00, featuring not only the Chkhikvadze brothers but also Pridon Abuladze, who will compete for a bronze medal in the 60 kg category.
Two more Georgians, Data Chkhaidze (82 kg) and Lasha Tvildiani (97 kg), who performed on the first day of the competition, keep the chance to go to the repechage.
With the championship advancing, the spotlight will be on the Georgian wrestlers as they strive for success in their weight classes.
