The Prime Minister of Georgia: Paralympians to Receive Same Award Amounts as Olympic Athletes

 
In a move to align the recognition of Paralympians with their Olympic counterparts, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has announced that Paralympians will be awarded the same prize amounts as Olympic athletes.
The winner of the gold medal, Giga Ockhikidze, will receive 1,000,000 GEL. The Silver medal owners Revaz Chkoidze, Giorgi Kaldani, Vladimer Chincharauli, and Zurab Zurabiani will each be awarded 500,000 GEL. Bronze medalists, including Nino Tibilashvili, Ina Kaldani, Akaki Jincharadze, and Ana Japaridze, will receive 250,000 GEL each.
In recognition of their efforts, for the para-athletes who were left without a medal, will be awarded 50,000 GEL each. This decision highlights a commitment to equally recognize the achievements of athletes in both the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
