Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze Praises Team Spirit Following National Match

Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze shared his thoughts on the Georgian national football team’s recent match, expressing disappointment over the loss but praising the players’ efforts and the enthusiastic support from fans both in Poznan and Tbilisi.

“Of course, it’s disappointing that we didn’t win. Thanks to the boys for fighting. Thanks to the coach. Thanks to the Georgian fans, a lot of people came to the stadium”. – said Tbilisi Mayor.

Commenting on the match conditions, Kaladze criticized the stadium’s field quality, stating, “It is inconceivable that a match of this level is held on a surface like this”.

While acknowledging the team’s array of talented players, Kaladze highlighted the significance of Giorgi Kochorashvili and Otar Kiteishvili, calling them the “heart of our national team.” He expressed disappointment that Kochorashvili would be unavailable for the next match due to yellow card suspensions.

Kaladze emphasized the need to keep a positive outlook despite the setback, stating, ”We had our opportunities, but that’s football—you can’t always win. We must hold our heads high and remain resilient. A crucial match against Albania is coming up, and we need to prepare thoroughly to deliver a strong performance and achieve the desired result”.

With a commitment to maintaining a positive attitude, the team aims victory in the upcoming match against Albania.
