Oleh Fedorchuk on Georgia’s Rise and Ukraine’s Challenges

The famous Ukrainian coach Oleh Fedorchuk spoke about the meeting between the national teams of Georgia and Ukraine.

Fedorchuk praised Albania’s strong performance in Euro 2024, considering them favorites in their group and acknowledging the challenges Ukraine faces. He criticized Ukrainian head coach Serhiy Rebrov, implying that the expectations for the team have been unrealistic considering his relatively modest coaching record.

“Albania looked very good at Euro 2024. In general, I considered them to be the favorites of our group. It will be very difficult to play with them. Georgians were stubborn, but now they are among the leaders and are progressing. We once again overestimated our own capabilities. Although we are at a pretty good level now. In general, I call on the Ukrainian football community to be realistic.

One of the reasons for the failure in the League of Nations is that the expectations of Sergey Rebrov were too high. He has a rather modest coaching record, although great advances have been made on him and his team. Then we become depressed because of our own illusions, because our expectations do not match our abilities.
My prediction is that we will stay in the B division, but getting into the elite is a fantasy. I think we will definitely win one of the two games. 7 points should be enough to keep the place in B division”, – says the Ukrainian specialist.

The Ukrainian national team is in last place in the group with 4 points. Serhiy Rebrov’s team will play against Georgia on November 16 in Batumi.
