Mikheil Kekelidze has emerged as the champion of the European Chess Championship for seniors (+50), held in Lignano, Italy.
The Grandmaster from Tbilisi was in the lead almost throughout the championship and finally scored 7 points out of nine possible. Edwin van Haastert from the Netherlands and Martin Mrva from Slovakia had the same number of points.
Taking into account the additional indicators, Kekelidze won the title of champion.
