Merab Dvalishvili: “I fight for my country and I am ready to sacrifice myself for it”

It’s an ordinary day, I just have the belt, – UFC super lightweight champion Merab Dvalishvili said at the press conference after the meeting.
According to the champion, he fights for Georgia and is joyful to make Georgian fans happy.
“The first emotion was amazing, I couldn’t control myself. When I stood up, then I realized that the belt was mine and I was the champion. Now I analyze what happened. I beat three former champions, Shawn was the fourth. It’s a normal day, I just have the belt.”- said Dvalishvili.
According to the champion at the start of the fight, O’Malley’s trainer was disrespectful. Generally, he is not accustomed to interacting with the opponent’s corner, although he informed the referee about it since the behavior continued. In sports like football or basketball, such actions would lead to disqualification.
“I have nothing against Sean O’Malley, I just wanted to dominate and show that I could break him. I respect my opponent, regardless of what he said about me. He works hard, I think he will come back stronger.” – added Dvalishvili.
The Georgian fighter also noted that the arena was impressive, and fighting in the “sphere” provided a unique experience. However, he maintained control and stayed focused on his performance.
As a Georgian, he feels a deep connection to his country and is prepared to make sacrifices for it. At the end of the press conference, he addressed his supporters in Georgian: “Georgia, I love you, we made it, we will meet soon,” said Dvalishvili.
Merab Dvalishvili defeated American Sean O’Malley in the title fight.
