Tbilisi “Iberia 1999” thanks Kutaisi “Torpedo” for changing the date of the match and notes that “Torpedo” forgets its interests and puts the development of Georgian football at the first stage.
“We would like to express our special gratitude to Kutaisi football club “Torpedo”, which took into account our club’s request regarding the change of the date of the “Erovnuli Liga” game.
As you know, “Iberia” football club participates in the third qualifying stage of the UEFA Conference League. Our request to change the date of the game was also related to this fact.
We would like to point out that, despite the fact that “Iberia” and “Torpedo” are competitors in the Georgian National League, “Torpedo” took the lead not considering the interests of their own club, but with the fact that the successful participation of Georgian clubs in the conference league is important for the development of Georgian club football.
For us, the support of “Torpedo” is even more appreciated in the light of the fact that, to our surprise, other Georgian clubs, despite our request, refused to change the date of the game for a reason we do not understand.
It is good that in the Georgian football space there are clubs in the form of “Torpedo” of Kutaisi, who really care about the development of Georgian football within the framework of healthy competition.
