Kevin-Prince Boateng looks back on his tenure at “Milan”, emphasizing the motivation that fueled him upon joining the club.
“When I moved to “Milan”, I was very eager to prove myself during training,” said Boateng. “Whenever I found myself open on the pitch, I would shout loudly for a pass.”
However, after just a week, Andrea Pirlo, a seasoned teammate, called Boateng over and had another player who spoke English translate his message. “He advised me not to shout so much,” noted the player.
After being surprised, Boateng asked Pirlo for clarification. The legendary midfielder explained, “When you shout, the opponents can hear you too and realize you’re unmarked, making it easier for them to close in on you. Just remember, when you’re open, I already know, so there’s no need to shout.”
Boateng’s experience highlights the valuable lessons learned from one of football’s greats during his time at this iconic club.
