At the UFC308 event in Abu Dhabi, Ilia Topuria defended his championship belt against Max Holloway for the first time.
As Topuria states, the victory belongs to all of Georgia and she hopes that many children will use it as an example.
“The first round was difficult, I hurt my leg and started to wrestle. Over time, I was given more opportunities and I knew that my moment would come. The moment of victory was very emotional. I knew I would be the first fighter to knock out Max Holloway, but to make it happen was exciting. I soon realized that I had knocked out Volkanovsky and Holloway in one year.
Topuria expressed gratitude to the fans who supported him, saying, “This victory belongs not only to me, but to all of Georgia. Thanks to everyone who came here to support me. Hopefully, it will be an example for many children and they will use all this,” said Topuria.
