Georgian Paralympic athlete Giga Ochkhikidze set a world record in pole vaulting – the athlete scored the throw of 9.66 meters.
Ochkhikidze improved the world record by 44 centimeters and, without doubt, won the Olympic gold medal.
This is the second medal for Georgian Paralympians. On the first day of the Paralympic Games, Ana Japaridze won a bronze medal in Para Taekwondo, and today Giga Ochkhikidze brought Georgia a gold medal.
